How to send your flowers
1. Ordering and Dispatch
After you place your order via our website, you will receive an email confirming our studio address. Send your flowers to us by first class post - Royal Mail Special Delivery is the most reliable and ensures delivery the next working day by 1pm. Sending your flowers while fresh will ensure best results (ideally within 1-3 days of your wedding or event). If paying for postage online, you may be asked to provide our email address for tracking purposes, which is: info@pressedandpreserved.co.uk
*Please note that if you are based in Birmingham/Solihull or the surrounding area, you are more than welcome to drop off your flowers to us on request. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time.
2. The Golden Rule: Hydrated Stems, Breathable Blooms
To keep your bouquet in peak condition during transit, please follow this simple balance of moisture and air.
The Stems (Hydrate): Please send your fresh flower bouquet whole - wrap the base of the stems in a wad of wet kitchen roll or cloth secured with foil, cling film or a small plastic bag (over the stem ends only). For teardrop or waterfall style bouquets which are arranged in an oasis - please ensure the oasis is damp before sending.
The Blooms (Breathe): The flower heads themselves must remain exposed to the air. Please do not wrap the flower heads in bubble wrap or plastic. Why it matters: Whilst it's tempting to cushion the blooms, plastic traps moisture and heat, causing the petals to 'sweat' and brown in a very short space of time. To keep them secure, loose tissue or packaging paper does the job much better!
For dried flower bouquets - wrap your bouquet gently in several layers of tissue paper or packaging paper, paying special attention to the most fragile parts of the arrangement.
3. Secure Packaging
Make sure that the box you use is as compact as possible in order to avoid too much movement which may result in breakage. Depending on the shape of the box, either lie the bouquet flat or stand upright (within a smaller box or container if available). You can use loose, crumpled packaging paper or tissue to minimise the movement of your bouquet by plugging any gaps in the box.
4. Identification
Before you seal your box, please include a note inside with your full name and email address. As we often receive several beautiful bouquets on the same day, this ensures we can identify yours instantly and get started on the preservation process!
5. Labelling Your Parcel
Mark the outside of your parcel with 'Fragile' and 'Fresh Flowers'. We also recommend drawing arrows or writing 'This Way Up' to ensure your bouquet stays upright on its journey.
